The sunlight shone brightly on the gothic villa, so much so that even that gloomy house that looked particularly scary in the night suddenly gave off a holy feeling. Withered leaves were all over the front gate, from a tree that had no leaves and only a swing hanging from its branches. In the front was a small, defunct fountain, no water in its basin. The withered leaves were here too, over a thick layer of dried mud.
The heavy door was pushed open to reveal a girl walking out in a white Liu Silan High School uniform. Her pretty black hair held a natural curl, her facial features eye-catching and her temperament warm and clean.
A black car stopped in front of the gate, a driver in a suit coming out to bow slightly, his cold expression becoming gentle as he asked, “Miss, did you have a good time last night?”
This house was a gift to Mu Rulan from her grandmother when she had passed. She really liked it here, but did not allow anyone else to enter. Even her treasured two younger brothers weren’t allowed to enter. As the most precious princess of the Mu Family, she was pampered since her youth and nobody dared to make her unhappy. They also noticed that Mu Rulan came back in a noticeably better mood every time she returned from this place, so nobody commented on it.
After all, the area here was considered quite secure.
Mu Rulan nodded her head with a smile. “Yes.”
“I’m glad to hear that,” said the driver, smiling widely now as he opened the car door for Mu Rulan.
The driver was Chen Hai, one of her grandfather’s old retainers. He was reliable and knew some martial arts. Mu Rulan’s grandfather pampered her a lot, so he sent Chen Hai to work as her driver and bodyguard.
“Would you like to head to Loulan Court for breakfast?”
“Let’s go to school, I was so busy last night that I forgot that I’m quite busy at school today.” Mu Rulan said with a light smile, looking very warm. It was as if someone planted the spring daylight on her, so gentle and clean.
Chen Hai understood, his eyes sweeping over the rearview mirror and seeing Mu Rulan gazing out the window. Her profile was fair, and with her soft hair she looked very cute. She always had a faint smile on her face, like an angel…
This was the princess of the Mu and Ke Families. She was also an angel in many people’s hearts; everyone adored her.
Liu Silan High School.
It was a globally known elite university, ranked as the topmost university in the country.
This year Mu Rulan was 16 years old. She was the student council president, chosen by the student body. Nobody had run against her, even though there were many students who were older than her at the high school.
The car stopped in front of Liu Silan High School’s golden front gates. As Mu Rulan left the car, many eyes followed her movements. Students came out to surround her to greet her. She was a very well known student at Liu Silan High School as well as at other elite high schools because of her academic results, behavior, and her beauty and wealthy background. Even when girls would speak behind her back out of jealousy, as of course there were situations where people didn’t know of Mu Rulan while arrogantly trying to bad-mouth her, someone would show up to scold them.
People who didn’t know about Mu Rulan didn’t have the right to bad-mouth her.
The next Monday was the autumn school festival for Liu Silan High School. This festival took place once every three years and was usually very grand. Since Liu Silan University engaged in more foreign practices of education, the students were responsible for decorating the school and arranging programs. These were all organized by the student council, and then tasks were distributed to each class to develop students’ practical abilities.
Mu rulan was currently working inside the vice president’s room, when suddenly someone rushed in a hurry to shout: “President!”
Mu Rulan glanced up, a pair of small oval spectacles over her eyes, her mouth immediately lifting up into a warm smile: “What happened?’
Chen Qing finally noticed he was too rash. He scratched his head and responded with a blush, “President, someone is in a fight at the Block B basketball court. It’s Rusen and Rulin fighting with the transfer student who arrived two days ago. They’re too fierce and nobody can stop them, the ones who tried to step in got hit! You should hurry and go!”
Everyone at Liu Silan High School knew that president Mu Rulan was very fond of her twin brothers. One might even say that she spoiled them. Look, Mu Rulan’s expression changed as soon as she heard, and she put down her work and ran out quickly.
The Block B basketball court was located right in front of the senior classes. IT was surrounded by a lot of students, some of them carrying boxes for decoration.
Within the circle, three young boys were huddled together, fighting. In other words, it was the twins bullying a young boy. Their fists showed no mercy, each punch hitting the young man hard. Even a few students standing nearby were hurt because they were trying to stop them from fighting.
These two young masters from the Mu Family, especially when riled, seemed capable of killing someone.
“F*ck your mom! I’m going to kill you! Let’s see if you can keep talking trash!” Mu Rusen was overcome by his anger, his eyes red with anger as though he really yearned to kill his opponent.
Mu Rulin didn’t say anything, but his lips were pursed tightly when he laid into the person on the floor, punches hard.
Soon, Mu Rulan had rushed over and the students parted to make a path for her. When she saw the scene she already recognized that things could not have gone any worse; the student laying on the floor wasn’t moving at all. She hurriedly went in to stop the fight.
“Rusen! Rulin! Stop this right now!” Mu Rulan pulled on both their arms. The twins didn’t notice who it was, and thinking it was another busybody student, their punches almost hit Mu Rulan. Luckily, they reacted just in time to draw their punches.
Mu Rulan pulled the twins away, turning her head to the students behind her. “Whoever is free please call an ambulance.”
Some of the students reacted and rushed to take out their phones to call an ambulance.
Since Mu Rulan was there, the other students didn’t stay any longer and returned to their classes. The only remaining people on the basketball court were the twins, Mu Rulan, and the transfer student on the floor.
Mu Rusen had some bruises on his face, the corner of his mouth bleeding. Mu Rulin was in a similar state. However, both boys were still stubbornly not looking at Mu Rulan.
Mu Rulan’s face didn’t have a good expression either. She didn’t speak with them while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. She ordered them to stay in the president’s office to reflect on their actions while she followed the doctors to send the patient to the hospital. She only returned back to the school when she confirmed that the transfer student’s condition was not too serious. When she entered her office, she saw both boys not moving an inch, facing the wall in their dirty clothes and messy hair. All this still did not cover up their exquisite temperaments. After all, they had such a pretty sister like herself, how could her brothers look bad?
Mu Rulan closed the door. The president’s office was quite spacious. There was a sofa, desk, and a computer. The room was quiet, and only the sound of the yellow curtain fluttering in the wind could be heard.
Mu Rulan looked at the two boys from behind with a faint gaze, her thoughts unfathomable.
