Mo Qianren walked up to the table, looking at Jin Biaohu. He said, slowly, “Do you know how much strength is required to cut the throat of someone about your size and strength?”
“I’m not lying!” When Jin Biaohu heard those words, he thought Mo Qianren was trying to help Mu Rulan, so he quickly refuted them.
“Both your legs are twisted behind the legs of your chair. Psychology research shows that means you’re looking for a sense of security due to your nerves and guilt. I’m not saying you’re lying, yet you’re so quick to claim that. This is classical conditioning. You’re so afraid of people saying you lied; what are you hiding?”
Mo Qianren’s gaze was sharp as a knife. He bent down and supported himself with a hand on the table, getting closer to Jin Biaohu.
The cold sweat on Jin Biaohu’s forehead dripped down to his neck, his entire body stiff. Translated by The Novelst
Of course he had lied. He said that he had brought Mu Rulan to scare her, and also hid that Zhou Yaya had instructed him.
Either way, there was no evidence to prove their intentions with Mu Rulan, but Mu Rulan had truly killed someone.
Jin Biaohu was afraid to look Mo Qianren in the eyes. The man was too scary and he felt that he was being seen through.
“Let me think out loud,” Mo Qianren said, straightening and crossing his arms. “Initially, you were looking to scare Mu Rulan? You and your friends drove almost 300 kilometers from the original location at the school to the crime scene. When I arrived, Mu Rulan and her brother were locked in that room and tinder had been placed around it, along with diesel. Mu Rulan and her brother are still in the hospital. You call this a prank?”
Jin Biaohu made a fist. Since it had come to this point, he couldn’t hide that he wanted to kill Mu Rulan, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t twist the truth.
“That’s because Mu Rulan was going to kill us! We had no choice but to defend ourselves. And so what if we wanted to kill her from the very beginning? We couldn’t lay a single hand on her before she’d killed someone. I will fight this and report Mu Rulan’s murder!”
Even if he was sent to jail he would drag Mu Rulan along with him, or else he would definitely be crushed by the Mu or Ke families.
Only when Mu Rulan was convicted would the Jin Family be able to attract enough attention to be safe. Only then would he have a possibility of getting out of this place! Zhou Yaya had told him this.
Mo Qianren took a glance at the man recording the proceedings. He said lightly, “You heard him. He’s admitting their initial motive.”
The policeman was surprised before nodding and writing it down.
“Very well, let us continue,” Mo Qianren said, ignoring the resistance in Jin Biaohu’s eyes. “Mu Rulan wanted to rescue her little brother and followed you. You instructed her to throw away all her electronics because you were afraid she would call the police.
“You used the simplest, most effective way yet you and your accomplices don’t have minds capable of thinking that strategy up in such a short time.
“You have a remaining hidden accomplice. A woman who is 1.6 to 1.72 meters tall, weight range from 45 to 50 kilograms. She’s pretty, probably from a wealthy family, and also a student of Liu Silan High School. Lately she must have had a conflict with Mu Rulan, and her anger likely lead to her making a move.”
The more Jin Biaohu heard, the more scared he became. His back was drenched in sweat as he felt his tricks being exposed before this man.
Zhou Yaya had told everything to her father the mayor. Though Mayor Zhou was angry, he was also protective towards this daughter. He didn’t want her to go to jail, so he had erased all records of calls between Zhou Yaya and Jin Biaohu so no one could figure out their relationship.
But with just this analysis from Mo Qianren, all the police would need to do is ask around Liu Silan and the accomplice would be quickly unearthed: Zhou Yaya!
All the policemen in the interrogation and control rooms were at a loss for words. They wouldn’t have thought that Jin Biaohu and his crew would still have other accomplices. They hadn’t been able to recognize that at all, but Mo Qianren was able to identify the accomplice down to her height and weight?
His reasoning skills were godlike. Where had he gotten that data from?
Judging by Jin Biaohu’s expression, Mo Qianren could confirm that his reasoning was accurate.
After he left the interrogation room, the leader was curious and came to ask: “Mr. Mo, how did you know there was another accomplice, even down to the gender?” Translated by The Novelst
Mo Qianren glanced over casually and said, “The answer was obvious. Jin Biaohu was targeting Mu Rulin from the start. Mu Rulan finding out was an accident. In that kind of hectic situation, they were likely panicking and so it’s impossible for them to think of such details, such as asking her to throw away her electronics – unless there was someone else controlling them.
“Mu Rulan’s social network is quite simple and public – she wouldn’t have offended someone shady. And most of all, based on Mu Rulan’s looks, temperament, and attitude, if the accomplice was a man he would not have wanted to kill her even if he was dissatisfied with her.
“It’s only if the person was a beautiful, popular girl who couldn’t be compared to Mu Rulan that this makes sense: after they butted heads, her resentment would grow rapidly due to jealousy.”
The leader was still unable to understand. “But why is it a pretty girl from a wealthy family? An ordinary-looking girl from an ordinary background would still get jealous, no?”
