The police received a very surprising call.
Ke Wanqing was interested in cancelling the prosecution of Jin Biaohu and Zhou Yaya. How unexpected. Before this, she had looked like she would sue them until they had nothing left to their name.
Mu Rulan was still a minor and Ke Wanqing was her guardian, so naturally she had the right to make such decisions. As long as Mu Rulan didn’t come forward to say anything, there wasn’t enough proof to accuse Jin Biaohu and Zhou Yaya of murder. If the prosecutor was interested in letting go, then naturally there would no longer be a reason for the police to keep them locked up.
Jin Biaohu and Zhou Yaya were released quietly. Translated by The Novelst
Looking at the long-awaited blue sky peppered with white clouds, Zhou Yaya clenched her fist.
Mu Rulan… Just you wait. This time I’ll kill you myself!
Jin Biaohu was picked up by Haung Maozai and a few of his friends.
That Mu Rulan: if he didn’t make her suffer, his name wasn’t Jin Biaohu! He was insecure whenever he ate or slept, feeling like she would suddenly appear before his bed with a utility knife.
To be blunt, he feared Mu Rulan would take revenge on him, so he wanted to preempt any moves and gain the upper hand.
He heard that Mu Rulan owned a house from her grandmother, and that she treasured it deeply. He also knew she would often go and stay for a night and didn’t allow anyone to come with her.
Jin Biaohu had used his identity as one of the owners of the Jin Family businesses and asked someone to investigate the entry records to the house. He realized that it had been quite some time that she hadn’t visited her house, and that she would likely visit soon just based on her past visit frequency.
Jin Biaohu clenched his fist, his eyes fierce.
The sound of a machine cutting through the wall was ear-piercing. Liu Mian and Mo Qianren stood on the edges as they watched the police try their best to extract the corpse from the wall as best they could.
Jin Boxing and Madam Jin had rushed to the scene, heads full of sweat. They hadn’t expected so many things to go wrong, one after the other. They were happy to hear that Jin Biaohu had been released, but the very next moment they had received a call that the villa they owned had such an incident!
Originally this was guaranteed to be a profitable business. Didn’t this mean that their business would be greatly affected?
The corpse was slowly cut from the wall, but the face still had a few large pieces of cement sticking to it. They needed to handle that part with care.
Mo Qianren walked slowly to the corpse and took a look. His expression changed slightly as he seemed to notice something.
“Mr. Mo?” Their leader, who was behind him, called out in surprise. He quickly followed Mo Qianren.
Had Mr. Mo noticed something?
Mo Qianren squatted beside the corpse. There were still a few large pieces of cement stuck to its skin and the face couldn’t be seen clearly. Yet Mo Qianren stared at the surface of the cement, stretching out his hand slowly.
The leader’s gaze followed his movements closely, like he was afraid to miss any details.
Mo Qianren swept the surface of the cement that covered the body and touched something.
“Give me some water,” he instructed.
Immediately, a policeman brought a bottle of mineral water over. “Is this enough?”
Mo Qianren took the bottle from him, pouring the water onto the corpse. The area his fingers had touched was washed clean, revealing the initial color to the eyes of the others.
The leader’s eyes widened. “Wasn’t this…” Translated by The Novelst
This was a thread – a section of silvery thread could be seen. This was the same thread that had killed Wang Qiang!
Mo Qianren looked silently at that section of thread, wordlessly standing up to back off, observing the staff continuing to work.
After another hour, they had finally managed to get off the last of the cement on the corpse. The whole body was revealed and a few exclamations could be heard.
It was a naked corpse, both hands, legs, and even his waist twisted at a scary angle. Something seemed to have been used to fix all his limbs.
A police officer went to push the hand of the body down, but realized he couldn’t move it at all. The corpse was well-preserved, but it was obvious that the insides were rotting, or else it wouldn’t have melted in the first place.
The victim was a man. More investigation would have to be done to determine who it was. Behind his neck, limbs, and waist, were some sort of specially-made silver nails.
The nails were about seven centimeters long, and his wrists and ankles were tangled by that silvery thread. He looked just like… a human puppet…
The police thought this was a very psychopathic, malicious murder case. The criminal even dared to hide the corpse at this sort of place. It could be a coincidence but perhaps it was not.
When Jin Boxiong saw the corpse clearly, he was so shocked that he passed out on scene.
He became so agitated because he knew the victim. Or rather, he could say that he was a little familiar with the victim!
