“You should help me tie my hair too!” The girls who passed by said enviously to their boyfriends.
“Huh? I don’t know how…”
“You can learn, just look at them!” Translated by The Novelst
After just a bit, Mo Qianren finished tying her hair into a ponytail and was satisfied with the result.
Mu Rulan shook her head, causing the tied hair to follow her movements. The corners of her lips curved up and she looked at him, “Thank you, Qianren.”
Mo Qianren stayed silent as he went to grab his wallet to pay for the tie. Mu Rulan spotted something and pulled him along, causing him to nearly drop his wallet.
She pulled him to the other end of the shop, looking at the winter scarves and hats. She touched her neck, finding it a little chilly now that she had tied her hair up.
Mu Rulan took a fancy to the red wool scarf at the uppermost part of the wall. She wasn’t tall enough and couldn’t reach it even on her tiptoes. She pulled softly on the man’s clothes behind her. “Help me grab that one.”
Mo Qianren stretched his hand out to take it down easily for her.
“We also have that for men.” The shopkeeper approached them again and continued with a smile, “It’s a couple’s set.”
“Is that so?” Mu Rulan couldn’t hide her smile as she looked at him. “Look, it looks good. Let me buy this for you, hm? Let’s match, Qianren. Can we?”
Mo Qianren didn’t feel like answering this shameless psychopath.
Mu Rulan blinked a few times without an answer. She persistently continued calling out his name. “Qianren?”
He felt that his silence was enough to answer her question, but despite having acquiesced, it was too bad that this girl didn’t seem to be aware of his embarrassment.
She tugged at his clothes again. “Qianren? What do you think?”
“Mn,” he responded softly. His heart skipped a beat every time she called his name.
“Mn? Qianren?” Mu Rulan didn’t hear him clearly. She called him again.
The shopkeeper was blushing as she turned away, silently screaming in her heart: This couple was so cute! They looked so good together and the way they get along is so lovely! Ahhh she couldn’t take it anymore; it was too moe!
The things were wrapped nicely in the end and Mo Qianren paid for everything. The person carrying everything was also Mo Qianren.
Mu Rulan was in a great mood. Even her ponytail was shaking joyfully in sync with her footsteps.
She looked at Mo Qianren and decided to dominate the arrangement of his remaining free time. “Let’s go out and buy some clothes for you.”
She felt that though the simple black and white clothing suited Mo Qianren, wearing only a suit in winter had to be very cold. Last time she brought it up, everything went in one ear and out the other. Really, not only was he picky with his food, he also didn’t listen to others. This man was really hard to raise.
Mo Qianren felt very wronged. He had listened to her words last time, it was just that the clothes Lu Zimeng had bought him were not washed clean and there was still a bit of smell to them, so he didn’t want to wear them. After that he had hung the clothes in his closet and forgotten all about them.
Just as she took care of her little brothers, Mu Rulan dragged him along to each and every clothing store to pick out different outfits to see which would suit him. Most of the time Mo Qianren stood there, watching her move busily among the rows of clothing, then obediently try the clothes on with only a look of disgust. After a few stores, more shopping bags weighed down Mo Qianren’s hands.
After shopping, they went to Mu Rulan’s favorite restaurant to eat: Loulan Court.
Since it wasn’t the first time they had gone to eat together, the staff were not surprised to see them again. They only thought that Mo Qianren and Mu Rulan must be dating for real. Judging by the bags in his hands, they must have gone on a date.
As they passed by an aisle, they met Lu Zimeng, who was there dining with a beauty. When Lu Zimeng saw them, he immediately shooed away the beauty and shamelessly squeezed between the two to be a third wheel.
Once Mo Qianren went to the bathroom, Lu Zimeng immediately drew near to Mu Rulan, raising his guard.
Mu Rulan smiled as she looked at him, waiting to see what he was going to do. She didn’t know when it had begun, but she noticed that his gaze was somewhat strange sometimes when he would look at her.
“What’s up?” Seeing him stare for a while without a sound, she kindly gave the first word.
“Rulan, let’s play a brain teaser,” he said, sounding mysterious.
She nodded, “Alright.” Translated by The Novelst
“Here’s a situation: a girl is attending her mother’s funeral and meets a handsome man and falls in love with him at first sight. She believes he’s her soulmate. However, she forgot to ask for his number and once the funeral is over she can’t find him any longer. A few days later, she kills her own sister. Why?” Lu Zimeng stared closely at Mu Rulan, not wanting to miss even a moment of her reaction.
He had seen this question in a book. Usually people would wonder why she killed her sister. Jealousy? Perhaps she realized her sister was with this man? It all seemed possible, but they were not the correct answers. Obviously, this kind of test was just to check whether the person’s way of thinking was normal.
Mu Rulan tilted her head to the side, answering, “Because she thinks the man will appear again at her sister’s funeral?”
Lu Zimeng’s expression changed immediately, subconsciously shrinking back from her. That was right. That was the correct answer!
The book did tell him that these kinds of questions weren’t very accurate in judging whether a person was normal or not, but the question itself had already shocked him. Seeing Mu Rulan give an answer so easily, he couldn’t keep his composure.
She blinked innocently. “Is there some sort of problem? Somehow I feel that Mr. Lu seems to be afraid of me.”
“Ehehehe… Me? When? You must have noticed it wrong…” Lu Zimeng forced a hollow laugh.
