Ke Wanqing was satisfied with Mu Rulan’s answer and nodded. She hugged her waist and led Mu Rulan to the dining room, “My baby is home now, let’s have dinner. Those two little brats still haven’t come down yet?”
Ke Wanqing was from the Ke Family, she was the princess of the prestigious Ke Family that once had higher reputation than the Mu Family. Her personality might be strong but she was straightforward at the same time. Half of the Ke Family was involved in the underworld, and they had deep connections to the one on top.
That is why in the past, Ke Wanqing released that bastard out of jail and also didn’t want Mu Rulan to get involved in the case. That person must’ve had some connections with the Ke Family. Since they still wanted to gain some benefits from that person, how could they compare to a useless daughter who can’t bring them any profits?
“I accompanied your dad to fish today, and we manage to capture a lot of fishes for our baby. Eat some more fish, it’s good for your health and most of all it doesn’t make you fat. Baby, you should eat more and don’t overexert yourself.”
Ke Wanqing couldn’t stop talking and Mu Zhenyang only stepped into the conversation when he could. Ke Wanqing has always been the dominant side, while Mu Zhenyang was weak to her because of her family’s power. Adding to the fact that Mu Zhenyang didn’t have much talent in managing businesses, thus the power of Mu Family was actually under Ke Wanqing’s thumb.
Mu Zhenyang may be the head of the family, but that was all just for show. Many decisions were made through Ke Wanqing’s advice first before being determined.
This is also the reason why when Mu Rulan persistently wanted to get involved in the case, Mu Zhenyang’s attitude towards her got worse day by day. He was suppressed by his wife for so many years, how dare his daughter even try to get her nose up higher than his, she was definitely challenging his pride!
Letting out all the stress in his heart that he had gone through with Ke Wanqing all these years, his poor innocent daughter became his target.
Many things that she couldn’t understand in the past were clear to her in this life. Was it because she had become abnormal now?
Mu Rulan had a bite of the freshly cooked fish, and on her face was her usual gentle smile.
Clattering came from upstairs. Mu Rulan turned her head to the side and saw Mu Rulin coming down the stairs. She naturally picked some of the fresh parts of the fish from Ke Wanqing and gave it to Mu Rulin. The corner of his mouth went up slightly, and if you looked closely, you could see his face blushing.
On his other side, Mu Rusen’s face went dark immediately because his spot was taken by Mu Rulin. In the next second he pouted his lips and acted like a spoiled kid: “Sister, what about me? You only gave the meat to Lin, do you not love me anymore?”
“That’s absurd, both of you are my little brothers, how can I not love you both?” Mu Rulin laughed at him, she took the last few piece of meat and put into his bowl.
Ke Wanqing looked at the scene, she too got affected by the joyful aura: “What’s wrong with the both of you, why did you steal your sister’s meat? I even heard you guys got into a fight at school.”
“We’re eating here, why did you mention that matter now?” Mu Rusen’s face immediately turned downcast when Ke Wanqing mentioned the fight, and he replied defiantly and lowered his head to continue eating his rice.
“Eh, you……” Translated by The Novelst
“Mom.” Mu Rulan took a piece of her favorite beef to her plate, and smiled gently towards her: “They’re still young, it’s normal for boys to fool around.”
“Why did you act like you are more mature than us when you’re only 1 year older than us……” Mu Rusen puffed out his cheeks and muttered softly.
Mu Rulan’s gaze immediately turned strict and scolded him: “Shut up and eat your rice.”
Mu Rusen zipped up his mouth and began to quietly eat his rice. After eating two spoons he paused again. His pretty eyes took a careful glimpse at Mu Rulan’s face, then he stretched out his chopstick and took a carrot, slowly bringing it over the table before their eyes and put it inside her bowl.
Mu Rulan raised her gaze onto him only to see his eyes blinking innocently, pulling a cute smile to please her, displaying his shiny little canine teeth. Mu Rulan had no other choice but to pamper him.
Mu Rulin was looking at this scene and his eyes seemed to be obscured by a layer of fog. The same thing always happened whenever he thought finally he had a chance to get closer to his sister. His twin brother would always pop out and ruin the moment.
His twin brother had always taken away his sister’s attention naturally and unfairly. Mu Rulin didn’t care about other people, since he liked to do things alone, but Mu Rulan was the only person who he wanted to share with. But why must it happen to be his big brother who was born 1 minute earlier than him that ruined his plan numerous times!
After dinner, Mu Rulan went up to wash her face. Her room was exactly like her, giving a sense of warmth and a little bit of cuteness, because inside her room were all kinds of dolls. Most of the dolls could be separated by their joints and were made from wood, arranged nicely sitting on display. In her collection she even had a Pinocchio doll from the movie “The Adventures of Pinocchio.”
Mu Rulin carried a book and walked into his sister’s room. Even when the usually cold and distant boy walked into this kind of place, his cold aura would’ve turned warmer.
He walked to the front of the display and scanned through the dolls on top, he still couldn’t understand why his sister loved dolls so much. He guessed it was normal for girls to like this kind of stuff, especially since the ones that Mu Rulan collected were all elegantly made. A much higher standard suited her temperament compared to those big fluffy cloth dolls.
Mu Rulin had a strange feeling about it when he stared at those dolls in made with such detail, something felt off for him……
When Mu Rulan came out from the bathroom, she saw Mu Rulin was carrying a book standing right in front of her collection and staring at the dolls in a daze. She smiled lightly and walked to him, rubbing his half-dried hair and asked: “What’s wrong? Do you want it?”
Mu Rulan’s hands were on his head for a second then moved away, and suddenly Mu Rulin felt empty in his head but he couldn’t act like Mu Rusen did without caring for his image. He’s much more mature compared to Mu Rusen and he knew more than him, so he must show restraint sometimes.
But there were times where he really couldn’t control himself, and then he would end up trying to find different excuses to comfort himself. Day by day, reassuring himself that there wouldn’t be next time.
Times like now.
He shook his head and said: “I feel the number of dolls decreased again.”
Mu Rulan raised her eyebrows and brought him to sit in front of her desk, “You counted?” she asked.
“Mmhmm.” Translated by The Novelst
“Last time someone told me she wanted one, so I gifted one to her.” Mu Rulan’s eyes were sparkling brightly as though she was thinking of something, and even her smile widened, “She must’ve liked it, wait no, she must’ve loved it so much……”
“Didn’t Sen say he wanted it last time?” Mu Rulin asked, remembering that Mu Rulan rejected him last time.
Mu Rulan laughed softly, as if she was thinking of an interesting idea.
“Because it’s not time yet.” She answered.
It’s not time yet, it’s not the perfect time yet. How could a sister be willing to put her hands on her little brothers? Because they’re her little brothers, so she’s giving them chances. The two little brothers who have been overly spoiled by their sister, were meticulously trained by their abnormal sister. If they’re still disobedient and refuse to listen to their master’s words, then she would gift them a doll, so that when they become a doll themselves, they won’t have to worry about being alone anymore~ Hehehe……
